Since 2013, June 10 has been recognized as World Art Nouveau Day.

If, like me, you are a fan of this style, you're in the right place. Let me share a bit more about it with you.

Each year, a different aspect of this art movement is celebrated. In 2022, the focus is on typography.

Art Nouveau, which flourished during the Belle Époque before 1900, widely disseminated posters that introduced a distinctive style of typography in letter arrangement.

These posters advertised everything from salad oil to theater performances, and typography was an integral part of their design, characterized by its signature flourishing ornaments.

The typography often featured elongated, embellished letters with a feminine touch.

Inspired by the flowing lines of organic forms found in nature, Art Nouveau typography stood in stark contrast to the more geometric fonts commonly used at the time.
